June 29, 11:00 a.m. Critter Costumes. Wild and wonderful animal fashions give clues for classifying critters. Join instructors from The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore at the East Columbia Branch to play dress-up, and use your powers of observation to explore distinctions between vertebrates. Ages 6-12; 50 min. July 1, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Blood Pressure Screening. Free, walk-in blood pressure screening and monitoring at the Glenwood Branch offered by Howard County General Hospital: a Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine. 1st & 3rd Mondays. A Well & Wise event. No registration required.

July 2, 10:30 a.m. Just for Me. A class at the Glenwood Branch for children ages 3-5 who are ready for an independent class that includes creative expression, listening comprehension, and early reading skills. 30 min. Register online or by calling 410.313.5579. Offered again 7/3 at 10:15 & 11:15 a.m. at the Elkridge Branch; no registration required.

July 2, 7:00 p.m. Guided Meditation. Presented by Star Ferguson-Gooden, M.Ac., L.Ac. at the Miller Branch Enjoy a guided mindfulness meditation designed to impart a feeling of peacefulness and connection. 1st Tuesdays; 7 – 8 pm. July 9, 40th Anniversary!  HCGH opened their doors 40 years ago, today.

July 11, 5:30-9:00 p.m.  Adult, Child and Infant CPR/AED 2013. This course will teach you the skills needed to clear an airway obstruction, perform cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). At the successful completion of this course, you will earn a two-year American Heart Association completion card.  This course is for community members and does not meet the qualifications for health care provider.  HCGH Wellness Center, 10710 Charter Drive. $55. Registration required.

July 13, 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. 40th Anniversary Health Fair.  Join us from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for our free health fair! Walk through a mega heart, participate in health screenings, meet the experts, sample healthy foods, participate in games, learn piloxing and help us cut our anniversary cake!  We hope to see you there!!!
